Senior Software Development Engineer

Torch Technologies, a 100 percent employee-owned company, is seeking a professional Senior Software Developer Engineer to join theVisual & Analysis team currently developing cutting edge visualization products. Candidates applying for this position will have the opportunity to build and integrate visualization applications to be used by soldiers and civilians.

The candidate will be expected to work closely with other developers, artists, and customers to develop quality software products. Candidate is expected to develop in fast iteration producing maintainable, testable, well-structured applications. Candidate should be able to take direction and work independently as well as with a team. Candidate should be dependable and self-motivated, eager to overcome challenges and solve problems. Previous experience working within a DoD environment is a plus, but not required.

• Eligibility to obtain a United States SECRET clearance is required for ongoing employment in this position.

Technical Requirements:

• Advanced understanding and experience with C++.
• Advancedunderstanding of Object-Oriented Programming.
• Passion for developing video games, visualizations, and training applications.
• Experience developing with game engine technologies such as Unreal Engine, Unity, CryEngine, etc.
• Experience working in a Scrum team with examples of success.
• Experience developing technical software documents (design, architecture, feature specifications).
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and 8+years of professional development experience.
• Full understanding of using Software Code Repositories (Git, GitLab, Azure Devops, etc.) during development.

Desired but Not Required Experience:

• 8 years' professional working experience in either simulation, visualization, or game development is an advantage.
• 8 years' experience developing with Unreal Engine.
• Experience developing CI/CD Pipelines with Jenkins and GitLab.
• Issue tracking with GitLab or Jira.
