Position Overview

Autodesk's Risk application gives general contractors in the commercial construction industry a quick and efficient way to assess risk for potential subcontractors (e.g. plumbers, electricians, etc.) bidding on jobs. We help our customers manage millions of risk qualifications every month, through an intuitive, modern web application.

Our team is looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer who enjoys working on exciting, agile projects, helps other team members grow, and has a strong focus on customer experience. This is a great opportunity to join a small, collaborative team and make a big impact on a critical part of the pre-construction workflow!

What this role looks like:

• Lead development of new features using full-stack technologies
• Document engineering design specifications and implementation decisions
• Focus on quality, including writing unit/integration tests and refactoring when appropriate
• Debug and solve defects in implemented software solutions across the tech stack
• Collaborate effectively with UX Designers, Product Managers, SDETs, and other Software Engineers
• Review other engineers' code; dig into to the functional side, including pointing out patterns & anti-patterns, fundamentals, etc.
• Kick-off and contribute to technical discussions within and across teams, and consistently iterate on team processes
• Willingly tackle complex problems, breaking them down into manageable chunks, ensuring the team understands the implementation
• Keep yourself up-to-date with evolving technologies and share your knowledge with the team

Where you're at:

• Strong programming skills, able to write modular, testable, and maintainable code
• Problem-solver with excellent communication skills; ability to make sound, complex decisions in a fast-paced, technical environment
• 2+ years of professional web software development experience
• Fluency with JavaScript, React, Angular, or similar framework
• Strong proficiency with Python, Node.js
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (we use Postgres)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Sentry, Splunk, and DataDog
• Self-learner who gets things done with minimal supervision

Bonus points for:

• Experience fine-tuning Webpack, CI/CD tools such as CircleCI, Jenkins
• Exposure to deploying with Spinnaker
• Skills with web performance and optimizations
• Experience with MongoDB
