Position Summary:

Bentley Systems, Inc is a global software development company that provides innovative software solutions for infrastructure professionals. We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Digital Experience Engineering Portals Team. This is a great opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud platforms within Microsoft Azure and the latest UI technologies, while building robust and reusable React components and backend APIs for our Portals.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop front-end webpages and backend services.
  • Collaborate with the team in an agile, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) software development process.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to writing testable, maintainable, and scalable code while actively giving and receiving feedback.
  • Take ownership of key products and features - from software design to project planning and deployment.
  • Provide support and mentorship to other software engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • Strong conceptual and practical foundation of core Computer Science concepts including Algorithms, Data Structures, Operating Systems, and Object-Oriented Programming.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to maximize productivity.
  • Self-motivated person with the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and in an ownership and results-oriented culture.
  • Strong programming concepts and knowledge of C#, JavaScript, and Typescript.
  • Knowledge of distributed version control system like Git.
  • Working experience of Azure DevOps and Agile Development methodologies like SCRUM.
  • Strong understanding of HTTP.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements). The role requires communication with managers, peers and other colleagues of the company in person, and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.
  • This role does not require travel.

Essential Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design of new and current web systems.
  • Strong programming concepts and knowledge of C#, JavaScript, and Typescript.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with automated testing tools such as Jest and Selenium.
  • Experience with any of the following frameworks or libraries: React, AngularJS, .NET Framework (including .NET Core), TypeScript / JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Webpack, Babel, Gulp.
  • Experience in consumption of cloud services and REST Interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of HTTP.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Experience with e-commerce.
  • Experience with any of the following tools: VS Studio, VS Code, Chrome Dev tools, Postman, and Fiddler.
