Senior Software Engineer

In this position you will be part of a dynamic team that develops Software-in-the-Loop and Processor-in-the-Loop simulations to verify flight software for the Missile Defense Agency Targets and Countermeasures program (MDA/TC). You will analyze and integrate flight software intohigh fidelity 6 Degree of Freedom simulations. Work will be performed in a lab at the Redstone Arsenal and a Secret security clearance is required.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering or engineering
• Desired languages:
  • C/C++ (Must Know)
  • Fortran
  • Python
  • Bash
• Experience with C++ application code development and Linux / Unix
• Modeling and Simulation Knowledge
• Software development experience in a DoD environment
• Self-starter with experience in leading development, integration, and test activities
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with executive leadership and customer
• Able to carry and lead multiple unrelated tasks and priorities at the same time
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring software activities are planned, executed, and delivered on time.
• As a Senior Principal Software Engineer you are ready to perform as a seasoned leader within a major software development program
• You would also oversee, plan, or review the work of others as well as coordinate with other leaders in a scaled team environment
• Setting priorities for your team a Product Owner in support of larger software effort
• providing practical solutions to difficult technical software problems
• Provide feedback to other team members based on a review of their work
• Support or lead software integration and verification activities
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms, products, and teaming
• Work in a team environment with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and translate these into a pragmatic and effective technical solution
