Senior Software Engineer

Two Six Technologies is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to help develop and maintain the distributed services and support tooling within our SIGMA sensor platform. A successful candidate will have hands-on software development experience with the creation and maintenance of scalable, data-intensive systems and a passion for delivering effective and impactful products to customers. We are seeking candidates who have demonstrated initiative and ability to work with a broad variety of technologies, and who have a practical understanding of deploying technical solutions for real-world applications. Members of this team are highly motivated, self-driven, and able to work well independently as well as within a team.
Responsibilities:
- Developing, testing, and documenting the services, tools, and applications used within the SIGMA platform or deployments thereof
- Drafting and implementing improvements to externally facing developer documentation
- Actively supporting your work through operational test events and live field operations
- Being part of a small, highly-focused team that values initiative and creative spirit
Minimum Qualifications:
- A four-year degree in CS, EE, or Mathematics, or equivalent on-the-job experience
- 3+ years of software development experience, preferably with exposure to building distributed systems that handle large amounts of data
- Strong proficiency in Python or Java programming languages
- Familiarity with the usage of both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to other support staff
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building cross-platform applications for use by other developers
- Experience with wireless (NFC/Bluetooth/802.11/LTE) protocols and corresponding hardware
- Experience designing and developing network APIs using HTTP, WebSockets, and other protocols
- Experience with deploying services via containerization software (Docker)
- Experience with modern software deployment processes for rapid iteration (CI/CD, code review, etc)
Clearance Requirements:
- Eligibility for Security clearance
