Our Consumer Business Unit is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the team! Our Consumer department is an iconic, enduring healthcare consumer brand that presents smart guidance to customers and generates continuous insights to the industry. You will join a full-stack team that owns a Ruby on Rails backend (which we are migrating from Heroku to AWS), and a React Native frontend. You will be responsible for becoming an expert on the backend systems, building out new features, and making sure our services can scale as we continue to accelerate our user growth.

• Developing robust and maintainable engineered features for large-scale, cloud-based applications
• Debugging and maintaining deployed features to improve scalability and performance
• Participating in the full software development lifecycle, including development, code reviews, testing, documentation and production deployment
• Collaborating with product managers, designers, QA analysts, and other engineers to deliver high quality features.
• Contributing to our weekly on call rotation to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may involve our full stack.
• Using your expertise to share your knowledge and encourage your teammates to grow.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years software engineering experience
• Experience with large scale projects using modern Object Oriented frameworks
• Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related technical field), or equivalent experience 
• Experience with RDBMS (e.g. Postgres or MySQL)
• Experience writing unit and integration tests

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing in Ruby on Rails
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Heroku 
• Experience designing and building scalable APIs using RESTful frameworks
