Senior Software Engineer (23-033)

CTI is seeking a senior software engineer to join our team as we continue to design and implement a cutting-edge cloud Mission Control System application. You will be closely involved during every aspect of the project lifecycle including requirements gathering, design/architecture, development, testing, and delivery. This position will be required to spend up to 70% of the time in USSOCOM facilities located on and near MacDill AFB, Tampa FL.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design, implement, and maintain USSOCOM's MCS/COP government-owned software solution
• Lead a team of junior and senior software engineers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Work with outside data sources and APIs
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
• Participate in program increment (PI) cycle, including planning of sprint tasks and participation in all Agile development ceremonies while ensuring all developmental blockers are documented and reported

Requirements

Necessary skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related field, or 7 years of equivalent experience
• Minimum 7 years of experience with designing and implementing full-stack software solutions
• Proficiency with web technologies such as React, Redux Toolkit, and Typescript
• Experience leading technical decisions, including the ability to break down problems, identify solutions, and communicate the process and conclusions to an engineering team

Beneficial skills and experience

• Master's degree in software development, computer science, or a related field
• Ability to communicate effectively via multiple mediums and with management, co-workers, and customers, both technical and non-technical
• Excellent development and leadership abilities
• Ability to write clean code and leverage best practices for implementation, documentation, and testing
• Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures and their real-world use cases
• Passion for developing customer-focused solutions
• Proficient with container-based software solutions such as Docker, gateway managers such as Kong, and security authentication systems such as Active Directory and Keycloak
• Microservices and/or distributed computing development experience
• Experience with monorepo and microfrontend architecture
• Experience with Tactical Assault Kit, Common Operational Picture (COP) platforms, and working with government teams
• An active U.S. government Secret security clearance and be eligible to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance and SCI. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain security clearance
