What you’ll do as Senior Software Engineer

- Work on a remote cross-functional team where you’ll play a critical role in designing, planning, developing, deploying, and observing your code in production.

- Be able to assess and bring in industry information into your decisions and learn new technologies: AWS is releasing new tools every day, there are new open-source libraries to vet and you will be a party to helping us pick the best tool for the job.

- Be willing to work in any area of the codebase, including JavaScript/TypeScript/Node, PHP, Java, or other technologies.

- Help staff, build, and form the culture around a team of engineers, a product manager, designers, QAs, and associated supporting roles

In order to succeed in this position, you will need

Mandatory skills

- Advanced/fluent English skills – Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong CS fundamentals including familiarity with data structures and especially the asynchronous challenges in JavaScript

- Experience developing in server-side languages such as PHP, Node.js, or Java

- Experience developing client-side JavaScript frameworks, such as React.JS, Angular, Vue.JS

- Knowledge of tests in alignment with the Test Pyramid

- Solid background with data stores, either SQL or NoSQL

Nice to have

- Previous experience working with AWS and its services

- Previous experience working with Typescript

Non-technical skills

- Be a true team player! Experience working in a cross-functional team, and working with other disciplines to help determine the best path toward delivering a valuable service is important.

- Be willing to accept responsibility and be accountable not only for your own work but the work of the team.

- Ensure your knowledge and expertise are shared amongst other team members and even across teams, willing to seek opportunities to mentor teammates.

- Commit to learning about anything you don’t know independently and without much supervision.

- Have self-motivation and the ability and desire to learn new technologies, applications, processes, and environments.
