Senior Software Engineer

The Purpose of Your Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that supports the technology side of our business strategies by working collaboratively with every department within Apex develop products, solutions, and enhancements that improve the client and employee experience.

Partial onsite work will be required. For this reason, candidates should live in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area. Apex may offer a relocation for those wishing to relocate.

What You'll Be Doing

• Maintain, update, and improve existing applications.
• Respond to application issues as they arise and resolve in a timely, considerate, and forward-thinking manner.
• Partner with other software engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to solve challenging business problems for our customers and employees.
• Take initiative in a fast paced Kanban environment, clarifying and improving requirements when necessary.
• Provide meaningful code review and mentorship to other engineers.
• Continue learning and stay up to date with modern development practices.

Education/Experience/Training

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• Professional SQL and Java Experience
• Comfortable with Git in a team environment
• Experience with CI/CD
• Passion for learning, reliability, automation, and continual improvement
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Oracle Database, Cockroach DB, Java, Spring Boot, JBoss, JavaScript, Angular, React, Git, Linux, Containers, Rancher, Ansible and Bamboo preferred.
