Senior Software Engineer

Cadent powers the evolution of TV brand advertising. We provide marketers, agencies, operators, and media owners with data-driven solutions for buying and selling TV advertising. By connecting brands with opportunities across national inventory sources—cable, broadcast, and digital media—our technology improves efficiencies and boosts the results of linear, addressable, and cross-screen campaigns.

Right now we are looking for a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer who will play a critical role in the design and implementation of our core dynamic ad insertion applications and the state of art data analytics platforms that changes the way in which TV is monetized.

About you:

• You do it all well – work independently, in cross-functional teams, and with all organizational levels.
• You are responsive and accountable regarding mission critical applications.
• You are passionate about software engineering. You care deeply about writing solid code and you closely follow industry trends and the open source community.
• You are highly motivated, detail oriented, and organized!
• You get that it’s important to have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What you will do:

• Work in a team environment with other developers to delivery our core application suites.
• Be creative and effective to deliver high quality solution on time within budget.
• Responsible for backend / service side Java development and frontend UI integration.
• Participate in cross-functional project meetings with product managers, project manager, developers, and test engineers as required.

Your skills:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related area, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience designing and developing Java based enterprise software, SaaS and large scale web applications.
• Solid coding skills in Java and strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Proven experience building RESTful based web services with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, SQL/No-SQL.
• Working experience with modern web UI frameworks and libraries such as Angular, React, jQuery etc.
• Hands-on relational database and ORM design and development experience.
• Comfortable with commonly used UNIX command lines and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with development and CI/CD tools like Maven, Sonar, Git, Jenkins.
• Disciplined approach to testing and building quality into software.
• Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
• Team player with ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities and requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Extra credit if you have:

• Professional NoSQL and big data related technologies like Couchbase, Hadoop, Spark, etc.
• Familiarity with DevOps and software deployment concepts using technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience with functional programming languages such as Python and Scala.
• Experience delivering applications and utilizing computation solutions on AWS, GCP or other cloud infrastructures.
• Experience with advertising technology
