Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM’s Ceph [1] engineering organization is looking for a software engineer to join the Ceph team. In this role you will collaborate with our worldwide Ceph engineering team to develop and enhance Ceph the RBD (block) and/ or RADOS component of the Ceph software-defined storage system. You will design and implement new capabilities and features to enable new use cases while improving scalability performance and efficiency. Job Duties:

Develop and debug Ceph code written in C++ and Python
Test new features with Ceph’s Python-language testing infrastructure (“teuthology”)
Support the Ceph community through engagement on mailing lists chat and other public discussions

About the Team

You will be working on the open source Ceph project with a focus on the block device interface. This globally distributed team is building the next generation of software-defined storage.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Experience in C++ python systems programming (e.g. networking embedded operating systems kernel storage)

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience in Ceph or other storage systems development especially with NVMe-oF is a plus
Open source experience
