What you’ll do:

As a software engineer at Torch, you will help create delightful experiences for our customers in close collaboration with stakeholders on the engineering, product, and operations teams. You will take a significant role in owning features and will collaborate closely with the CTO and other leaders to land changes that meaningfully affect the course of the business.

What we are looking for:

• 4+ years of experience in a professional engineering environment
• Deep familiarity with building for the web across both the front and backend
• Experience building products or large scale features with a high level of polish
• A demonstrated record of building scalable and performant systems
• Comfort working directly with non-engineers, such as product designers, product managers, or business stakeholders

Bonus:

• Started a company of your own
• Taken an active role in setting coding or architecture standards for an engineering team
• Been a part of brainstorming and ideation sessions for early stage products or features
• Dealt with performance and scaling systems with databases or data stores in real-world settings
• Helped manage complex, zero downtime migrations of critical system components
