Job Description

What you will do:

• Independently gather and document requirements of features and services.
• Contribute to architectural design and independently develop system designs that meet the requirements.
• Provide estimates for the design, considering tradeoffs between requirements, speed, cost, and reliability in the choice of a design approach.
• Develop and document code, according to the development process, that satisfies the software design. Develop, automate, and execute unit and functional tests. Report, analyze, debug and correct anomalies.
• Integrate services and components, solving problems across subsystems and products, to produce a final product. Responsibilities may extend to the technical management of the design, testing and integration of other engineers' work in related areas.
• Lead or participate in reviews of documents, designs, code, test cases and user documentation.
• Have responsibilities for the ongoing maintenance and integrity of several software subsystems.
• Provide work estimates, status reports, and ensure tasks are prioritized appropriately.
• Keep informed of new developments in the software engineering and computer engineering fields and disseminate appropriately through the organization. Identify and participate in technical and developmental training opportunities.
• Research, consider, and explore new possibilities utilizing the latest technologies and standards. May function as a go-to person for a technology, software methodology or other area of expertise.
• Function as a technical lead of a small to mid-sized development team.
• Initiate or contribute to software development capability improvement in software development practices and development tools.
• Clearly communicate and convey design concepts, both verbally and written.
• Learn and understand complex control system concepts.
• Effectively team with others through mutually supportive professional relationships, open and direct communications, honesty, and respect. Able to cope with and leverage stylistic differences and differences of opinion.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Typically requires 5+ years of experiences on software development
• Experience with the Industrial Automation industry and motion control
• Solid experience with C++ and web technologies (TypeScript/JavaScript, Angular and Cloud computing) .
