Zayo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to Design, prototype, and develop new internally hosted and cloud-based services for ENA and ENA’s customers as an integral member of the Software Engineering team. The Senior Software Engineer participates in the review and redesign of current technologies and services throughout their lifecycle. Synthesizes technologies from multiple vendors into a singular customer-facing product or service. The Senior Software Engineer works closely with Software Engineering Leads, Principal Software Engineers, and other Engineers to ensure new and revamped solutions meet ENA’s high standards and that the transition from concept to production is smooth and fully documented.
Responsibilities:

Works with immediate Software Engineering team members and other departments as needed to evaluate, design, and develop ENA products and services that meet and exceed customer requirements and expectations.

Meshes business and technical requirements from multiple stakeholders; designs prototypes, develops and collaborates on video, voice, managed Wi-Fi, content filtering, IAAS, PAAS, SAAS and other product services.

Documents solution architecture and provides training and guidance to tier 1-3 support and engineering teams for new and revamped services.

Conducts competitive technology and marketplace analysis collaborating with other teams as required.

Works with designers and developers, both internal and third party, on various customer-facing interfaces.

Participates in the agile development process to create applications and services based on design specifications and product owner definitions.

Researches and maintains currency with new developments, standards, protocols, and technologies related to ENA products and services.

Participates in the development and ongoing evolution of ENA’s technology and services roadmap.

Synthesizes technologies from multiple vendors into a singular customer-facing product, requiring the development and integration of solutions.

Assists in the coordination of product releases and rollouts.

Works closely with Software Engineering and Product Management to gather functional requirements and early market feedback.

Acts as internal and external, customer-facing product expert on new and revamped ENA solutions as required.

Presents prototype and early production services to key customers and gather feedback.

Provides product-related information and material for all RFP and RFI responses and customer-facing proposals

Occasionally coaches, instructs, or assists others in area of expertise.

Qualifications :
-
B.S. degree in engineering, computer science, technology or related field, or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in a software engineering, systems engineering, product development, and/or R&D role.

Desire to experiment with different technologies and meld them together to provide new and improved managed services to ENA’s customers.

Self-motivated individuals capable of taking high-level concepts and requirements to fruition with minimal direction.

Keen understanding of Internet and Web-based protocols and technologies. Development skills are essential in a wide array of languages including PHP and Golang.

Experience developing and using RESTful interfaces. Strong systems engineering and administration skills with LINUX and/or BSD-based operating systems are also crucial.

Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas: 802.11[x] Wi-Fi, unified communications and collaboration, video teleconferencing, content filtering, network analysis and traffic/security management, virtualization and container technologies and/or SIP-based VoIP.

Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, work under pressure, and grasp both technical and business-related nuance in a rapidly changing environment.

Ability to synthesize different underlying technologies into a single product or service using APIs and engineering skills to present a complete product or service to our customers.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, blueprints, or technical procedures.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from team peers, managers, clients, and customers.

Able to handle general business negotiations with vendors, partners and service providers.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Base Salary Range: $95,800 - $150,000 USD/annually, commensurate with experience.
