Genesys provides Cloud Customer Experience and Contact Center Solutions to its customers. At Genesys, employees work together to create the best and most secure customer experiences. The External Contacts team at Genesys is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the team.

The mission of our team is to design and develop services to help our users record and organize information about their customers. As customer information is considered sensitive, an engineer must be able to develop reliable and secure code with a team of engineering professionals and developers. And, as Genesys Cloud is a global platform, an engineer must be able to design and deliver solutions on a massive scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test services in Java and Python
• Follow best-coding practices
• Develop scripts to automate common tasks
• Integrate between internal and external REST APIs
• Deploy code using a CI/CD pipeline
• Create unit and integration tests
• Ensure code is resilient to failures and can run at scale
• Participate in code and design reviews
• Support services your team builds
• Understand & comply with GDPR, PCI, HIPAA Security and Privacy Laws
• Adhere to Genesys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics

Minimum Requirements:

• Excellent understanding and knowledge of cloud computing
• Programming experience in any object-oriented language like Python, Node.js, Java, Go, etc.
• Experience with REST, web services, and APIs
• At least 5 years of experience in developing microservices using cloud resources (AWS preferred)
• Thorough troubleshooting skills
• Willingness to learn new skills and tools

• Interested and passionate about developing software
• Constantly tries new technologies, frameworks, and development languages
• Understands software development fundamentals, and always thinks about scale when architecting solutions
• Detail-oriented and systematic
• Able to work with engineers in a wide variety of fields
• Not afraid to bring your own flavor into the mix

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with the performance, scalability, and reliability issues inherent in a distributed environment
• Basic network knowledge
• Experience with various datastores
• Ability to design, build, and maintain REST-based APIs
• Experience with automating deployments and testing in a CI/CD pipeline
• BS, MS in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent

Compensation:

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.

$98,150.00 - $203,850.00
