Senior Software Engineer

• Debugging software and hardware bugs through simulation, residual-analysis, and on-car testing to continuously improve system performance by using C/C++.
• Designing and evaluating the operating system and middleware for autonomous system.
• Initiating test of new circuits for sensors like Lidar, Radar, Camera, GPS, IMU, etc.
• Designing and implementing automatic software upgrading framework to integrate state-of-the-art sensors and time synchronization system for self-driving trucks.
• Developing and implementing device driver with protocols like TCP, UDP, USB, CAN bus, I2C, SPI, etc.
• Optimizing sensing system to achieve low latency, high robustness and fault tolerant for highway pilot systems.
• Designing and developing FOTA (firmware over-the-air) and SOTA (software over-the-air) system for updating autonomous driving system firmware and software remotely.
• Analyzing runtime performance for autonomous driving system and software stack.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 6 months of work experience as a Firmware Engineer Intern, Firmware Engineer, Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer or a related occupation required. Employer accepts experience gained before, during, or after graduate studies.

Required Skills:

• Linux and UNIX;
• ROS or ROS2;
• C, C++, Python, MATLAB and Shell script;
• Development of Sensor Drivers for Lidar, radar, camera, IMU and GPS;
• Multiple Communication Protocols: TCP, UDP, USB, CAN bus, I2C, and SPI; and
• Using real-time operating systems and development of tools/infrastructure, including Git and Jira.
