Senior Software Engineer, RBC Capital Markets LLC (Wealth Management), Minneapolis, MN:

Partner across IT and with assigned business line(s) to assess, research, and analyze business, technical and system needs in order to resolve business systems issues. Recommend technology solutions that meet sponsor/stakeholder needs. Develop feasibility studies and proposals for senior management and manage detailed design phases for large projects/ programs identifying, tracking and resolving technical issues and ensuring solution meets sponsor needs and PLC deliverables. Manage all aspects of joint development and assists with vendor negotiations. Develop measures and monitor ongoing effectiveness of IT services for assigned business line(s). Contribute to successful project completion by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies. Develop criteria for and participates in the evaluation of 3rd party vendors and software as well as due diligence exercises. Provide input and co-ordinate with the Database Administrator in creating new and modifying existing database structures using different types of databases and recommending appropriate data bases based on required functionality across multiple systems. Oversee all aspects of testing and verification, ensuring all tasks are performed for all interfaces. Provide adequate technical documentation and trainingFull time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate, related work experience.

Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:

• Analysis of design specifications;
• Design, development of Mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2 and CICS programming;
• Unit and integration testing, UAT Support, and Post Production support;
• Reviewing work product before delivery for completeness, correctness, and adherence to standards;
• Housekeeping of Unix file systems;
• Testing tools (e.g. Xpediter, FILEAID);
• Java;
• Web Services; and
• Hadoop
