Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Ocrolus is leveraging our existing infrastructure and Machine Learning algorithms to build a new Fraud Detection product. The Detect product helps our clients automatically flag financial documents that have been tampered, and generates visualizations to highlight fraudulent fields and changes. Fraud detection is one of our most requested features. Ocrolus has the data, and the infrastructure, to be a leader in the fraud detection space.

We are seeking an experienced backend engineer in Python with strengths in problem solving and attention to detail. This is a high impact, high visibility role with a lot of interesting problems. What you’ll do

• Develop and expand our existing Fraud Detection offering
• Research and investigate new forensic analysis methods
• Write clean concise code with tests, following internal style guides
• Peer review code changes from other team members
• Collaborate with the team and actively seek to partner with fellow engineers and stakeholders
• Solve big picture problems by taking a detail oriented approach
• Deliver high-quality products, and build confidence in the software you write by testing manually, writing automated tests, and using monitoring tools
• Mentor more junior level engineers in the organization

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years backend engineering experience, preferably within the tech industry
• Strong experience with Python
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross functionally with other departments
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Bonus points

• Interest in or experience in Machine Learning / Data Science
• Advanced Degree in STEM field
• Experience working on a global team
• Fintech / fraud experience
• Worked for a hypergrowth startup company

Note:

The full-time salary range for this role is between $170,000- $195,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
