Senior Software Engineer

At Fortune Media, we are reinventing how a storied brand, steeped in journalism and
business, adapts to today’s digital-first world. The digital transformation of Fortune
from a print magazine to a multi-channel media company is in full swing, and we
want you to be a part of it. The Engineering team works on multiple digital properties
at Fortune: from the editorial website to the conferences site, Fortune video portal, as
well as our new product Fortune Connect. Our goal is to launch new products to build
on our core competencies of content, events and education, in order to diversify our
revenue streams; and to improve the experience and monetization of existing
properties.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Web to join the Engineering team. As a
Senior Software Engineer, you will report to the Head of Engineering and manage the
development and support of the Fortune website along with associated applications
and integrations. You will work together with NYC based web engineering team as
well as our third-party development partners to develop innovative digital solutions.

Requirements

**2+ years of professional software development experience in digital media space with
focus on web development. Experience with mobile-first, responsive web development.
**2+ years of JavaScript development experience with exposure to React and NextJS.
**2+ years of experience CSS and HTML5. Integration using GraphQL. Understanding of
web performance and core web vitals.
**1+ years of experience Amazon Web Services.
**Experience integrating with 3rd Party API’s.
**Knowledge of working within an Agile and/or Lean methodology, using JIRA,
**Confluence or similar project management tools.
**Experience with Git version control, and other software adjacent tools.
**Ability to estimate development effort, efficiently and effectively.
**Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
**Good verbal and written communication skills.
**Being a team player and ability to adapt, learn and move fast.
**Ability to lead and recommend standards to other team members for web and general
software development practices.
**Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
**Practical knowledge of QA automation, functional & unit testing.
**Practical knowledge of programming language php and WordPress CMS.

Salary Range: $115,000 - $150,000
