Job Description

Why Become the Next GUIDE?

GUIDEcx is a unique client onboarding and project management platform designed to help teams work better during post-sale new client implementations. GUIDEcx is where all stakeholders in the onboarding process engage to accelerate and meliorate project delivery and boost customer value.

Role Description:

In the platform team, we are responsible for our system's health and catapulting our platform to the next level. We are currently working on modernizing our technology stack and systems.

Our current architecture comprises a monolithic RoR app and a few satellite services in NodeJS. We are working hard towards a horizon with a distributed system mainly written in .NET.

Our team is a mix of DevOps, Engineers, and an Architect. We work closely with Product to instrument our solutions to customers' problems avoiding building ivory tower solutions.

In our team, you will be a champion of the architectural transition, distributed systems, and .NET software development. You may also be requested to take ownership of entire modules by either carrying in development yourself or developing solutions with other engineers and teams.

Our software development process is still under development. We value few ceremonies and simplicity. We design and sketch stuff and draw.io, keep things clean in Jira, track project progress weekly, and meet daily on standup to resolve blockers. Atop that, we keep WIP low.

We expect you to design, write tests and code most of the time. When not doing that, you will likely be mentoring somebody while doing those activities. We aim to minimize any effort spent on no-value activities.

Our team has a zero-bug policy, and we take quality very seriously. We will work hard to deploy code that is comprehensively tested and introduces zero regressions - every time. As the engineer, you are the bastion of quality and will hold yourself accountable for delivering 100% functioning code.

Currently, we are geographically distributed across the American Continent. Even though we aim at asynchronous work as much as possible, we do a fair amount of mobbing/pairing synchronously over video calls.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns the application logic for your team's areas of responsibility, simplifies it, and disseminates it across the platform.

  • Guides project managers through technical challenges to optimize and unblock project outcomes

  • Champions software quality with the team through SOLID principles, clean code, and tests

  • Participate in performance tuning, testing, refactoring, usability, and automation

  • Optimizes the platform by fine tuning code and configuration of the infrastructure

  • Identifies and addresses opportunities for testing, refactoring, usability, and automation

  • Mentors and supports other engineers within the organization

Our tech stack: C#, React, Node, TypeScript, Rails, AWS, Docker

This position will be heavy in front end using the following languages: React, Typescript, Next.js and CSS

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise software development

  • Extensive knowledge of software design principles and best practices

  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work

  • Demonstrated experience driving complex projects through to
    completion

  • Eagerness to learn new things and continually improve your craft
