Job Description
Team: IT
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Python and Data Ecosystem in Israel.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain Python-based integrations within a high-performance data ecosystem. In this role, you will own critical connectors, SDKs, and integration workflows that enable Data Engineers and Data Scientists to leverage large-scale databases, orchestration platforms, and AI/ML pipelines. You will work closely with internal engineering teams and the broader open-source community to ensure reliability, scalability, and optimal developer experience. This position offers the chance to shape next-generation data infrastructure, contribute to AI-powered workflows, and drive impact across global enterprise and AI applications. The ideal candidate brings a practitioner’s perspective, strong Python expertise, and hands-on experience with modern data tools.
Accountabilities:
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of Python connectors, SDKs, and integrations for data orchestration and transformation tools.
- Build robust solutions that enable AI/ML pipelines, vector stores, and RAG architectures using high-performance database platforms.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Cloud, and Engineering teams to align integration efforts with platform priorities.
- Engage with the open-source community: triage issues, support contributors, and incorporate user feedback into roadmap decisions.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and reliability across all production-grade integrations.
- Provide thought leadership on data engineering workflows and AI/ML integration strategies.
- 7+ years of software development experience, with hands-on experience as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or ML Engineer.
- Proven expertise in designing and maintaining production-grade Python connectors, SDKs, or integrations.
- Deep familiarity with Python data libraries: Pandas, NumPy, Pydantic, and related tools.
- Experience with data orchestration platforms (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect) and transformation tools (dbt, SQLMesh).
- Practical knowledge of AI/ML workflows: embedding generation, vector search, feature pipelines, and LLM-powered applications.
- Strong understanding of database fundamentals: SQL, data modeling, query optimization, OLAP/analytical systems.
- Proficiency with concurrent Python: threading, multiprocessing, and asynchronous programming.
- Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating across engineering teams and open-source communities.
- Bonus: experience with deploying AI/ML models in production, familiarity with ClickHouse or other high-performance OLAP platforms, and JVM ecosystem knowledge.
- Competitive salary with market-aligned compensation.
- Stock options or equity participation.
- Flexible remote-first work environment.
- Employer contributions toward healthcare.
- Generous time-off policy and flexible leave.
- $500 home office setup for remote employees.
- Global company gatherings and offsite opportunities.
- Chance to shape company culture and drive impactful engineering initiatives.
