Senior Software Engineer

SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER – TYSONS, VIRGINIA

ObjectVideo Labs, a subsidiary of Alarm.com, is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to work in a fast-paced R&D environment. The successful candidate will work with small teams to design, prototype, and develop state-of-the-art automated image and video analytics solutions.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of technical areas. Typical projects will involve diverse technologies and skills. Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to self-learn are must-have attributes. Candidate must be able to communicate well within a team environment and work independently on self-directed tasks. Motivated and creative problem solvers will have opportunities to influence future projects and guide research directions.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for a wide variety of platforms and technologies.
• Engage in research, evaluation, and the application of new technologies and methodologies to solve challenging real-world application issues.
• Take part in the entire project lifecycle, from requirements, technical design, through development to deployment.
• Thrive in an Agile development environment, including quick development cycles, evolving requirements, and self-direction paired with team collaboration.

 Candidate Profile

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field or equivalent work experience.
• 6-8 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong C#/.Net programming skills and experience with SQL 
• Familiarity with distributed systems development, concurrent processing, and cloud architectures.
• Familiarity with large scale applications, SAAS, and/or SOA architectures, and computer vision algorithms is a plus.
