What you will be doing:
- Design, architect and implement highly scalable, distributed and fault-tolerant multi-tenant backend systems using elastic big data analytics platform running in the AWS cloud.
- Analyze and improve the efficiency and reliability of our backend systems developing management over terabytes of data using the latest and greatest technologies such as Kafka, microservices, Redis and Cassandra.
- Evaluate requirements, estimate development costs, design and implement the software, review the design, architecture and implementation, and improve the development process.
- Define and influence engineering best practices across organization.
- Define technical specifications, influence product direction and manage roadmap, iterate plans and communicate to stakeholders.
- Improve design specifications and write code.
- Solve complex problems by iterating, redesigning, and innovating systems.
- Lead, organize, and participate in cross-team discussion.
- Characterize complex problems related to the scalability, reliability, performance, and security of production systems.
- Develop instrumentation/profiling tools and systems.
- Scale-up and tune search systems to the next level.
- Involve in the following projects: Ingest data pipeline optimization for performance and scale.
- Telecommuting is permitted.
What we need from you
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related IT field and five (5) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer or in a related role.
- Experience with:
- AWS or other cloud services;
- Linux, multi-threaded programming, distributed systems;
- Real-time streaming workflow over large amounts of data;
- Object-oriented programming using Java, Scala, or C++; and
- Algorithms and performance characteristics of large distributed software systems.

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $184,000 - $193,000 . Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren’t limited to) such as role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible to participate in our bonus or commission plans, as well as our benefits offerings, and equity awards.Â
