Senior Software Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer candidate with experience in Java, Hadoop, Spark to join our team in Redwood City, CA (Hybrid/Onsite). As a Senior Engineer, you will deliver a reliable , scalable, next-generation Cloud Data management platform that provides the solid foundation for all other Informatica products. In the role of Senior Engineer, you must be able to work and adapt in a fluid work environment. Working as the Senior Engineer you have strong technical background.

You will report to the Director, Development.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do

• Facilitating the collaboration and engagement between senior members of the team to ensure sound design and implementation of big functional areas for the product.
• Incubate and design the next generation platform for complex heterogeneous systems and applications involving modern technologies.
• Work with architects and development and QA engineers to discuss and promote features.
• Collaborate with geographically dispersed teams in an Agile environment.
• Participate in internal/cross team meetings, scoping, decision making and technical documentation.

What We'd Like to See

• Knowledge of Big Data technologies (including Hadoop & Spark).
• Knowledge of cloud ecosystems such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud.
• You can work in a geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams in an Agile environment architecting and developing complex solutions for a scalable and reliable distributed processing engine. You can identify architectural weaknesses and recommend appropriate solutions. You are also able to mentor junior engineers on technical, architectures, design and related issues.

Role Essentials

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience, with a portion of that time spent in an enterprise software company.
• Backend engineer with an experience developing multiple iterations of products.
• Proficiency in microservice-oriented architecture and the development of SaaS-based solutions.
• Strong understanding of database internals, including query parsing, processing, and optimizations, with a focus on developing core scalable components of systems or server-side multi-threaded development.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality code in Java, with familiarity in Scala being advantageous.
• Experience with containerization management stacks such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with collaboration.
• For articulating thoughts and ideas in group settings.
• Show initiative, and willing to mentor and foster the growth of others.

• BA/BS or equivalent educational background, we will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience
