In this position, you'll play an active role in the design and development of features for our cloud-based commercial tax software product. You'll work on a distributed team of software developers, as well as collaborate with our quality assurance, project management, and product management teams.
Location: This role can sit in our offices in either Chicago or Buffalo Grove, Illinois; Dallas-Fort Worth; or Wilmington, Delaware, all of which include flexible and hybrid work options. This can also be a remote work opportunity.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

• At least five years of software design and development experience
• C#, .NET 4.6+, ASP.NET MVC, LINQ, JavaScript/Typescript, Angular, CSS, AJAX
• Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server
• Windows Server, IIS
• MS SQL Server

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• Penchant and passion for software product development
• Demonstrable skills in object oriented design, patterns, and programming
• Proficiency with unit and integration testing of code
• Proven ability, willingness, and motivation to learn and grow in an organization
• Willingness to learn from mistakes, adapt, and improve
• Open to giving and receiving direct and honest feedback
• Track record of delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately
• A history of contributing ideas and opinions in a dynamic, diverse, and talented team

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate proactively with a distributed team, including developers, quality assurance, project management, and product management teams to deliver quality software in a fast-paced environment.
• Participate in the daily standup to keep the team informed and on track.
• Write quality code to create new features and resolve issues.
• Peer review your colleagues' code and suggest improvements. Testing is a shared responsibility, including unit test and integration test automation.
• Remain up to date with cutting-edge technology and experiment with and learn new technologies, including recommending and implementing those technologies.
• This is a versatile role that will require diving into many areas. Even if you don't have the direct experience, you should be comfortable with uncertainty and be excited to learn.
