About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work with new technologies and architectures in a forward-thinking organization that’s always pushing boundaries. As a Full Stack, Senior Software Engineer (Event Driven Architecture) at EON, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing event-driven systems that drive the core functionality of our products and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system architects, and product managers, to ensure the seamless integration of event-driven principles into our technology stack. 

Salary: Depends on location of residence
Portugal Salary: €95,000 - €132,000

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of event-driven architectures to support scalable and resilient systems.
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate event-driven patterns into application code and services.
• Optimize existing systems and applications for better performance using event-driven paradigms.
• Conduct performance analysis and troubleshooting to identify and address bottlenecks.
• Ensure seamless integration of event-driven systems with other components of the technology stack.
• Collaborate with integration teams to enhance interoperability between systems and services.
• Develop and implement strategies for scaling event-driven systems to handle increasing loads.
• Design for high availability and reliability, minimizing downtime and ensuring a positive user experience.
• Implement monitoring and analytics solutions to track system events, detect anomalies, and improve overall system health.
• Work with data engineers to derive insights from event-driven data for continuous improvement.
• Document system architecture, design decisions, and best practices.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions to empower team members with event-driven architecture expertise.

Additional qualifications and considerations 

• Proven experience (7+ years) working as an engineer with a focus on event-driven architecture.
• Strong proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js).
• In-depth knowledge of event-driven design patterns, frameworks, and messaging technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with Azure and serverless computing is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Solid understanding of emerging event driven ecosystem specifications (CloudEvents, OpenTelemetry, AsyncAPI)
• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or relevant field a plus
