Senior Software Engineer

The Role:

We are looking for software engineers who are experienced in .Net, Vue.JS, SQL and AWS to join our team, grow with us, introduce us to new ideas and develop products that empower our users. Morningstar is a technology agnostic company, and as an engineer focused on .Net, Vue.JS, SQL and AWS F, and Full-Stack web development you may be working on set of curated, interactive views that are geared towards user productivity across the individual investor, advisor, and institutional segments globally and extract the full value of Morningstar's data and editorial perspective. Every day, you'll work with team members across disciplines developing products for investors and advisers. You'll interact daily with our product managers to understand our domain and create technical solutions that push us forward. We want to work with other engineers who bring knowledge and excitement about our opportunities. These positions are based in our Mumbai office.
Responsibilities

• Build well-designed, well-engineered, stable, scalable products across a variety of markets
• Follow software design best practices such as continuous integration and deployment, test-driven development, and agile principles.
• Solve investors' problems with technology, understanding market chaos at work and crafting technically appropriate interactive experiences to communicate effectively with product owner.
• Take ownership of the success of the team with a "gets things done" attitude; the ability to understand and leverage new technologies.
• Be passionate about quality, process, programming, and investing in general, seeing opportunities for improvement, seizing them, and then sharing your findings with others.
• Full Stack developer
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies.
• Help to shape product vision.
• Ability to build within and on top of our specific technologies and build new ones that encompass our business needs

Requirements

• A bachelor`s degree in computer science or an engineering field.
• 4-7 years of experience in programming in Vue.JS .Net, MS SQL, and AWS.
• Good knowledge & experience of C#, MVC, Entity and .NET framework.
• Good knowledge of REST API & AWS.
• Good knowledge of Advanced JavaScript and Vue.Js.
• Knowledge of 1 or more JavaScript frameworks like Python will be a plus.
• Knowledge of .Net Core Framework will be required.
• Strong knowledge of T-SQL
• Knowledge of XML / XSLT will be required.
• Good knowledge of domain modeling, test-driven development, and continuous integration is required.
• Knowledge of JavaScript and libraries like jQuery is nice to have.
• Understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) and exposure to tools like Jenkins and Harness will be an advantage.
• Experience with source code management tools & techniques like Git is required.
• Experience with Agile is required.
• Strong coding and documentation habits are essential, as is the ability to thoroughly consider and make thoughtful recommendations on all analysis, design, implementation, and troubleshooting issues.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact in both written and oral English.
• Proven ability to perform in a demanding environment together with a flexible attitude.
