Senior Software Engineer

Job Purpose:

To contribute to the development and maintenance of web applications by utilizing Ruby on Rails expertise. We are seeking a talented and experienced Ruby on Rails Software Developer to join our dynamic team. You will work closely with other team members to implement new features improve existing functionalities and help in optimizing the software architecture. You will be responsible for designing coding testing and deploying web applications using the Ruby programming language and the Rails framework. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet our clients' needs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design develop and optimize web applications using Ruby on Rails to improve functionality and user experience.

• Write clean maintainable and efficient code following best practices.

• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.

• Optimize application performance and scalability.

• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to Ruby on Rails.

• Work closely with DevOps and QA teams to ensure smooth deployment and testing processes.

• Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning and daily stand-up meetings.

• Contribute to documentation knowledge sharing and mentoring junior developers.

• Enforces and evolves software development standards and best practices.

• Troubleshoot software issues and ensure timely resolution to maintain high availability and performance.

• Estimates development tasks based on the appropriate business constraints.

• Provide on-call support as necessary.

Requirements:

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Extensive experience as a Ruby on Rails Developer.

• Strong proficiency in Ruby programming language.

• Experience with RESTful API design and integration.

• In-depth knowledge of the Ruby on Rails framework.

• Strong proficiency with at least 3 years of Elastic Search development.

• Proficiency with NoSQL Databases like: MongoDB and relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL MySQL) as well.

• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.

• Version control system experience (e.g. Git).

• Ability to write clean maintainable and well-documented code.

• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Experience of working with front-end frameworks/libraries like: Angular React or VueJS would be a strong plus.

Work Timings:

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work are according to terms and conditions and subject to changes by Manager’s communication and may have to accommodate customer schedules in different international time zones.
