Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities 

• Collaborate on a cross-functional Agile team to evolve Zayo's network automation stack

• Iterate existing automation, orchestration, and web service platforms

• Assist with defining and refining software development standards and architecture

• Validate internally and externally developed application code

• Define the best development paths, with the business, to achieve stakeholder goals

• Work closely with team members and helps them build their skills where appropriate

Qualifications

• Computer science degree or equivalent with 5+ years of experience

• Self-motivated and demonstrates a strong attention to detail

• Passionate about delivering high-quality products to our stakeholders

• Works well in a collaborative environment, adaptable and an excellent communicator

• Curious problem solver who keeps the bigger picture in mind when solutioning

• Experience in the service provider (telecom) space

Essential skills

• Excellence in Python, Node.js, JSON, HTML, Javascript, React

• Experience with YAML, TOSCA, NETCONF YANG, Jinja

• RESTful API development and consumption

• Experience automating or provisioning network devices (Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, Nokia, etc)

• Git workflow including general code management, branching, committing and merging

Demonstrated ability to

• Write reusable, sustainable and performant code

• Write tests and defensively solution problems to create stable deliverables

• Deliver code in a timely manner as defined by our agile cadence

• Challenge existing code patterns, propose alternatives and justify the value gain

• Critically analyze the code of others as well as their own, provide constructive feedback

• Proactively ask for assistance when hindered by roadblocks or requirement issues

Base pay range: $97,500 - 143,000, commensurate with experience.
