Senior Software Engineer

Description

SAIC is seeking Senior Software Engineers to join our team in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities:

• The selected candidate will be a member of a team providing software development and support to the AvMC Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration (S3I) Directorate.
• The candidate will primarily be responsible for developing applications to support components of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
• The applicant should be able to demonstrate the ability to support application design, development, testing, and documentation.
• Candidate will support and participate in system/subsystem design, performance studies and analyses; interpret and analyze requirements obtained/derived from customer; review, verify and/or validate system specifications and other design-related documentation; and software design review, technical interchange and management control meetings, and configuration control boards.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

• Senior Level:
  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years experience; four (4) years of experience are accepted in lieu of a degree
• Principal Level:
  • Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years experience; four (4) years of experience are accepted in lieu of a degree

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with programming in C++, C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Experience working with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Eclipse CDT or Microsoft Visual Studio
• Experience with (or similar to) development tools Azure DevOps Boards, Git, Pipelines, and Artifacts
• Experience with Linux operating systems
• Experience with Internet Information Services (IIS)
• Experience leading in Scrum methodology (Product/Sprint Planning, Backlog Management, Restrospectives, Reviews, and Daily Standup)
• Demonstrated ability to work independently throughout the software development life cycle.

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowledge of software development process, documentation, and CMMI
• Experience with Azure DevOps
• Experience with Army PEO Aviation
• Expertise in Object-Oriented Analysis and Design methods, along with familiarity with the Systems Modeling Language (SysML), the Unified Modeling Language (UML), and the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
