Senior Software Engineer

Premise is experiencing growth and is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Wallet Team. As a crucial member of this team, you will play a key role in designing and developing microservices for our Wallet platform. The goal of the Wallet team aims to provide a consistent and reliable platform for our contributors to be compensated for their efforts.  Your responsibilities will include maintaining core data assets, addressing technical debt, and collaborating closely with cross functional engineering and product teams to create solutions on our Wallet platform. ***This is a hybrid position based out of our Washington, DC or San Francisco office. 

• Develop, enhance, and maintain our existing services for our Wallet platform
• Work with payment service providers' APIs for a seamless compensation process for our contributors.
• Architect and design backend services to modernize our existing Wallet platform
• Implement best practices and design principles to build the new Wallet platform to provide more robust compensation services to our contributors
• Collaborate with our Finance and Analytics team to guarantee the security and accuracy of wallet transactions
• Conduct thorough and regular testing to uphold code quality, mitigating the risk of errors in wallet transactions
• Foster cross-team collaboration by closely working with Technical Leads throughout the organization to develop and implement resilient solutions.
• Coordinate with cross functional teams and stakeholders to align our Wallet capabilities to our accounting and financial strategies.  

• 4+ years in software development
• Advanced in Python, JAVA, and JVM related technologies (such as Scala)
• Solid understanding of communication protocols and experience building APIs 
• Advance proficiency with database design and query optimization
• Advanced proficiency with data structures, algorithms and distributed computing
• Experience working with cloud computing technologies (such as AWS or GCP)
• Experience working in a cross-functional and fast-paced environment
• Professional experience building scalable, performant, mission-critical software
