Senior Software Engineer

Job Duties: Utilize knowledge to improve the consistency, reliability, and performance of Reddit's foundational systems. Contribute to the internal infrastructure that all of Reddit Engineering uses to develop, deploy, and operate their services. Work closely with engineering teams in designing and developing systems that are resilient and highly performant at tremendous scale. Identify and build capabilities into Reddit's foundational Infrastructure and Platform services, which are used by Reddit engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate. Automate repetitive, manual, or risky tasks. Build tools and integrate systems to support Reddit's evolution. Identify and fix network, system, and service-level issues with distributed systems. Practice sustainable incident response and drive structural improvement with blameless postmortems. Observe and improve performance, reduce cost, and improve the experience for millions of users. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Reddit offices may be required.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field) or closely related quantitative discipline, and two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field.  

Special Skill Requirements: (1) Kubernetes; (2) Terraform; (3) Spinnaker; (4) Datadog; (5) SaltStack; (6) Linux; (7) Golang; (8) SOC 2 Control; (9) CloudFormation; (10) TCP/IP; and (11) Cloud Systems. Any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Reddit offices may be required.

The base pay range for this position is: $238,000 - $267,100 USD
