Senior Software Engineer, Anti-Cheat - Game Tech Group

Riot Engineers bring deep knowledge of specific technical areas but also value the chance to work in many broader domains. As a Software Engineer, you’ll also dive into projects that focus on team cohesiveness and cross-team goals. You’ll lead without authority and provide other engineers with a clear illustration of extraordinary engineering.

As a Senior Software Engineer on Anti-Cheat’s Platform team you will be responsible for building scalable backend services that support the operation of Vanguard. You'll influence the technical direction for how Vanguard services are built, scale and are operated in production, and collaborate with the Client team to comprehensively protect the competitive integrity of VALORANT. You will report to the Engineering Manager of the Platform team. Vanguard is Riot’s industry-leading anti-cheat solution (for more info on Vanguard click here!). 

• Design, build, and deliver internet scale backend services we will deliver globally to millions of people
• Build features to improve service reliability and performance
• Implement server infrastructure in support of new anti-cheat features
• Build and support live services for Vanguard
• Work with cloud technologies and services such as AWS
• Mentor more junior engineers on the team
• Collaborate effectively with analysts, data scientists and other disciplines within the Anti-Cheat group.

• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer
• BS degree or equivalent experience
• Expertise with C#, Java, Golang, or similar language(s)
• Professional experience working with cloud computing and cloud technologies
• Professional experience building large scale backend systems or game services

• Professional experience working with Golang
• Professional or academic experience working with C++
• Strong communication skills
