Job DescriptionĀ 

We are seeking a talented software engineer to join our bioinformatics algorithms team that builds and maintains our end-user facing applications and products. The position will work closely with algorithm developers, bioinformaticians and cloud engineers.Ā  We’re seeking a developer who is excited to build user-facing proteomics applications and maintain best practices around their packaging and deployment to our distributed cloud applications platform.Ā Ā 

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:Ā Ā 

  • Develop software packages to analyze data collected from our protein sequencing platform.Ā 
  • Set up test infrastructure to ensure the reliability of applications for scientific inquiry.Ā 
  • Work with algorithms developers to optimize and package code for deployment in our end user environment.Ā 
  • Develop and maintain internal APIs for cross-platform data access.Ā 
  • Design custom file formats and build SDKs to enable internal and external use.Ā 
  • Work with cloud engineers to design data visualizations.Ā 

QualificationsĀ 

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:Ā 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 2+ years of industry experienceĀ 
  • Advanced Python knowledge and experienceĀ 
  • Good knowledge of Python packaging tools and containerization with DockerĀ 
  • Strong grasp of code structure, modularization and integration concernsĀ 
  • Good understanding of software testing strategies (unit tests, integration testing, etc …)Ā 
  • Strong git skills and good familiarity with continuous integration toolsĀ 

Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):Ā 

  • Familiarity with major plotting libraries such as Plotly, D3, matplotlibĀ 
  • Experience with workflow authoring tools, such as CWLĀ 
  • Familiarity with Python threading, concurrency libraries and frameworksĀ 
  • Familiarity with numpy and PandasĀ 
  • Experience with AWSĀ

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $130,000 - $170,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position,Ā  an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.Ā Ā
