Qualys is the leading provider of information security and compliance cloud solutions. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team and lead the development of backend systems.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

- 8+ years of experience in backend development with expertise in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Kafka, and RDBMS (Oracle preferred).

- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile.

- Proficiency in design patterns and SOLID principles.

- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

- Proven ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to successful completion.

- Experience working with cloud technologies and services will be added advantage.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical challenges.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend systems using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Oracle RDBMS.

- Lead the architecture and implementation of backend components to support the organization's software applications.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.

- Implement best practices for performance optimization, scalability, and reliability of backend systems.

- Drive the adoption of Agile development methodologies and participate in planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

- Own and drive features/projects to successful completion.

- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance and support.

- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, particularly in backend development and cloud services.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
