Position: Senior Software Engineer- Backend
Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge in Software Engineering and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans. Participates in medium- to large-scale backend software projects and lead small- to medium-scale backend software projects. Analyzes business problems to design solutions and/or implements and tests complex code changes for specific requirements or application/standalone program. Drives solution for backend Microservice using event driven architecture, design discussions and code reviews within team. Leads the work of other small groups of four to six engineers, for assigned Engineering projects by proving pertinent documents, direction, and examples; identifying short and long term solutions and timeline; reviewing and providing feedback for proposed solutions. Primarily responsible for delivering high quality technical designs for backend services and code for the product requirements in a fast paced agile scrum sprints. Implements software as per the design, generate test cases, automate integration tests, perform code reviews and write feature documentation. Performs build, deployment and continuous integration processes to move the code and configurations from local development environments to QA & Production environments. Drives production deployments of backend services using cloud technologies. Collaborates with project team and cross functional teams. Works as Level 3 production support engineer on a rotation-basis to help Level 2 production support team for any production issue where engineering help is required. Provide support in troubleshooting / investigations pertaining to the inventory management systems. Responsible for production environment health as first priority, enabling automated monitoring and alerting and ensuring close to 100% uptime.
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any) or related field and 2 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.
Skills required: Experience with designing and developing robust, scalable and developer friendly framework using hybrid model for Rest API's involving Cassandra, Kafka, Queues and Jenkins. Experience developing Spark jobs for various Business Requirements on Data. Experience modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces. Experience implementing software as per the design, generate test cases, automate integration tests, perform code reviews and write feature documentation. Experience maintaining and improving existing codebases and peer review code changes. Experience with optimization and fine tuning of services with Apache Kafka. Experience designing Scaled Rule Engine using Solr, Apache spark and Azure Cosmos. Experience developing Sterling based Inventory Feed pipeline. Experience with developing Sterling based modules for Inventory Management System. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: The annual salary range for this full-time position is $136,000/year to $200,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
