Senior Software Engineer - Backend (CSR)

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Backend (CSR) to join our dynamic, growth-driven team in Missoula, MT or Seattle, WA. This position is open to remote candidates and is an incredible opportunity for someone looking to take on a meaningful technical role in a rapidly growing company.

We’re looking for software engineers who can take a feature from idea to delivery. You will manage the implementation of new features and help direct the architecture of the system to enable others to also contribute effectively.

The position is a full-time individual contributor role and reports to an Engineering Manager. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Implement new features on the platform
• Jump into our software and infrastructure
• Identify improvements to our existing platform (these might include enhancements to our developer experience, our infrastructure architecture, and our primary software, to support near-term growth and stability)
• Work with a wonderful team of test engineers, product managers, and product designers
• Translate product and engineering requirements into well-crafted and implemented features/components
• Contribute to the platform and develop improvements to existing and legacy components and infrastructure
• Write and review code
  

You’ll Be Successful With:

• 6+ years Software Engineering experience
• Modern Web Application design paradigms and familiarity with at least one stack. Submittable is using .NET Core and Postgres on the server side. On the front-end, you will find React and Redux
• Software Engineering and Agile principles
• Familiarity with modern cloud native infrastructure and design principles, specifically in the context of AWS
• Ability to work with other experienced software engineers and mentor less experienced software engineers
