Senior Software Engineer, Backend (DNS Platform)

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a backend focus to build, maintain and scale the DNS Platform at Squarespace. 

You will report to the Product Engineering Team Manager and have the option to work onsite (NYC), hybrid, or fully remote (U.S. only). 

You'll Get To…

• Practice disciplined software engineering, writing server-side code, creating high-volume production applications, and developing prototypes quickly.
• You will lead the development of new features and build backend services with Java.
• Collaborate with other engineers across product, platform and infrastructure teams to help shape the DNS Platform at Squarespace.

Who We're Looking For

• 7+ years of development experience in Java, Python, Go or another Object-oriented language. Experience developing large-scale software.
• 2+ years of experience with Domains or DNS (Domain Name Systems)
• A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design practices.
• A degree in Computer Science or related or equivalent industry experience.

Cash Compensation Range: $118,000 - 198,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
