Flyreel (https://www.flyreel.co) is a funded, early-stage startup that has developed the most advanced Artificial Intelligence solution for property analysis and home inspections that helps insurance carriers better manage risk and helps insurance policyholders get the right level of coverage. Our AI assistant guides homeowners through scanning their home using their smartphone’s camera and our proprietary computer vision technology. As users pan across the interior and exterior of their property, our AI documents their home’s contents and structural details while highlighting risks, hazards and more. We’re a small but growing team with a rapidly expanding customer base. We’re hiring top US-based software engineers for a number of exciting remote-work opportunities to develop and deploy cutting-edge web, mobile, and AI technology at scale.

About the role:

We’re looking for a Senior-level JavaScript engineer with experience in:

• Node.js
• TypeScript
• REST API development
• Express
• OpenAPI/Swagger
• ORM/ODM tooling such as sequelize or mongoose
• Testing with Jest, Mocha, or another javascript testing framework
• Google Cloud Platform or other cloud providers
• Function as a Service (FaaS) and serverless development
• Async/Event-driven architectures
• Building containerized applications
• Serverless architecture and development
• Git

The role will be focused on:

• Developing and improving our APIs
• Developing enterprise-level API integrations
• Implementing new features to support our mobile, web and backend products
• Creating a scalable development workflow as we hire more developers

Requirements

Applicants should be:

• Comfortable and capable of working independently, as well as with a team, to deliver robust, well-tested solutions with little need for oversight
• Resourceful with the ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
• Top-notch communicators, able to communicate with technical and non-technical team members
• A track record of strong leadership, ownership, initiative, tenacity, and humility
• Expert-level skills and experience architecting, designing, developing, and supporting complex, scalable, high-traffic, and high-availability backend solutions
• Comfortable working in a remote-work environment with a largely remote team

Our ideal candidate will have experience with:

• Developing and maintaining a high-volume / high-security Node API
• Building scalable backend systems in TypeScript
• Substantial experience building containerized applications
• Serverless architecture and development experience
