Senior Software Engineer - Backend Systems

Hi, we're Ondo Finance. Our mission is to provide institutional-grade, blockchain-enabled investment products and services. We have both a technology arm that develops decentralized finance technology, and an asset management arm that creates and manages tokenized funds. We were the first company to tokenize exposure to US Treasuries and have since expanded into several other assets. We are also focused on incubating protocols that can support both tokenized real-world assets and traditional crypto.

We are currently the leaders in the space in terms of AUM and are well capitalized to continue to grow the firm. We're fully remote with team members across the US.

About the Role

Our backend services team is pioneering software for diverse investment products on multiple blockchains. As an early engineer on a small team, you'll play a key role in building our cloud infrastructure, developing scalable products and tools for fund management, and shaping our development and internal processes. This role offers a significant opportunity to influence Ondo Finance's success by shaping the core of our technology.

What your responsibilities will be:

• Researching, designing, and implementing Ondo's core products in a multi-chain Defi ecosystem
• Developing risk analysis tools, liquidity management systems, monitoring systems, and robust automations to streamline Ondo Finance’s on and off chain financial systems
• Engineering blockchain indexing solutions in the cloud
• Participating in code reviews and contribute to a culture of ownership, collaboration, learning, and technical excellence

Skills and experience

• +/- 3 hours from the EST time zone
• At least five years of experience as a software engineer contributing to production services
• Experience with the following programming languages is a nice to have: Rust, C++, Python, Typescript
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements
• Solid fundamental knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and system design
• A dedication to continuous learning and a commitment to best practices across the whole technology stack
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• A demonstrated interest in blockchain technology
• Comfortable working in small team environment with minimal documentation and process
• Experience with dashboard technologies, log aggregators, cloud infrastructure and security (AWS) is nice to have
• Experience with DeFi protocols, developing smart contracts, or building blockchain indexers is nice to have
