Senior Software Engineer, Chromium - Browser Synthetics

In August 2020, Cisco Systems completed the acquisition of ThousandEyes, which now forms the ThousandEyes Business Unit within Cisco’s Network Services Business Group, and is a foundational component of Cisco’s growing Observability business.

The Browser Synthetics team enables ThousandEyes customers to understand the performance of their web applications, allowing them to test services by scripting user actions and API calls, and running these scripts from ThousandEyes agents distributed globally.  Armed with a continuous view of application performance across all layers of delivery, ThousandEyes customers are empowered to provide the best possible digital experiences to their customers and employees.

As a Chromium Engineer on the Browser Synthetics team, you will work directly in the system that runs browser-based interactions inside our agents. You will be responsible for expanding and improving the features and interactions that we support with Chromium as well as maintaining a high level of security in our architecture.

Qualifications: 

• 3+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency in Java, Golang, or C/C++
• Strong Linux fundamentals
• Experience with a container runtime (e.g. docker, podman) 
• Experience with Chromium Browser and browser automation tools
• Experience in operating system security, and/or platform security

Desirable:

• Experience with network protocols is a plus
• Experience with Typescript/Javascript and browser APIs is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar
