Credit Karma’s Money team is looking for a Strong Backend Software Engineer to join their growing team. You will have the amazing opportunity to work on products which are specifically built to offer the best bank account for our members neglected by the financial system, and helping them achieve financial progress and stability.
What you’ll do:
- Actively contribute to critical efforts including but not limited to build-out of new product features, design and development of new micro-services
- Influence the features and direction of the product with your own ideas
- Identifying ways to improve our technology and process
- Lead by example and mentor team members by providing technical and design guidance
- Lead or participate in code and technical design reviews

Minimum Basic Requirements:
- 3-5 years of industry experience in Scala, Java, and/or any functional language.
- 2-4 years of industry experience in microservices architecture, messaging patterns, and deployment models
- Experience in API design and building robust and extendable client/server contracts
- Experience with Agile/Scrum practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- A solid foundation in OOP, design patterns, algorithms, programming languages, networking and Linux operating systems
- Experience with SQL and relational database schema design
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities

That’s why we implemented role-based compensation, which ensures people who are in the same role receive the same pay with variations for geographic location only. It’s all part of a more comprehensive DEI strategy that helps level the playing field. The base salary range for this role is $185,885 to $203,550, plus equity and benefits.
