Senior Software Engineer, Cloud (Remote)

Summary:

This role is for talented Software Engineers with applied experience in building modern cloud services and web applications. The goal of this role is to develop key software systems for remote setup, management, and monitoring of our fleet of devices and ingestion, storage, visualization, and retrieval of data at a large scale. This engineer will work closely with Product managers, UI/UX designers, and subject matter experts to design solutions for a wide range of challenging clinical problems in MRI aimed at improving patient outcomes.  Across the organization they will make a significant contribution to the company’s overall vision of developing cloud services with a delightful look and feel.

Responsibilities:

• Develop software systems and cloud applications with focus on design, construction, maintenance, extensibility, integration, and security of data storage and retrieval.
• Make key decisions about tooling, platforms, and frameworks, when building and developing microservices and APIs.
• Spearhead the adoption of new policies and practices, as well as the evolution of existing methodologies.
• Translate wireframes and sketches into HTML and CSS and collaborate with frontend and fullstack developers across the organization to drive company-wide excellence in user interaction
• Serve as a “leading light” within the company, advising stakeholders and technical leaders on best practices and new technologies.
• Optimize frameworks, pipelines, visualizations, dashboards, and systems to remotely manage devices and facilitate collection of business analytics and reports across different products or domains.
• Conceptualize and implement comprehensive medical web application systems for multiple large-scale internal and external facing projects and document the design and specifications for internal and regulatory documentation.
• Perform code reviews and mentor other developers.

Knowledge and Skill:

• Outstanding frontend web development (Javascript, Typescript) and modern frameworks (React)
• Backend web development including best software engineering practices, efficient object-oriented software design, and building modern back-end systems (Python)
• Building and developing APIs and restful web services (Node.js, Flask/Nginx, Docker, PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy).
• Working with Product and UI/UX designers, translating wireframes and requirements into web applications

Education/Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 8+ years’ experience; or Masters Degree in Computer Science and 6+ years of experience
