Senior Software Engineer - Development Tools

Tower Research Capital LLC, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a senior software engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining the core platform and development tools that enable our engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our platform infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and provide effective solutions.
• Build and enhance the development tools and frameworks used by our engineering teams, streamlining the software development process and improving productivity. This includes automated testing frameworks, and continuous integration/delivery pipelines.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices related to platform engineering and dev tools, and recommend their adoption where appropriate.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve development workflows.
• Continuously evaluate and optimize existing tools and infrastructure to enhance efficiency and maintain a high level of developer productivity.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a software engineer, with a focus on platform engineering or dev tools development.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, C++, Rust.
• Strong knowledge of build systems (Cmake, Bazel, ...).
• In-depth knowledge of platform engineering concepts, including cloud infrastructure, containerization, orchestration, and scalability.
• Experience developing and maintaining development tools and frameworks, code generators, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.

Anticipated New York annual base salary range $175,000 - $250,000 plus eligible for discretionary bonus
