Aloft is building a team of engineers working to create highly impactful solutions in the US real estate market. The appraisal industry is the lynchpin of the gigantic real estate and mortgage industries; there is huge opportunity for improvement in efficiency and transparency. The solutions you help create will be the gateway for homeowners, lending institutions, and wall street investors to understand the value of their properties and portfolios.
 
We are expanding our Engineering Team - the technical backbone of our company. As a Senior Frontend Software Engineer, you'll create the foundation of frontend development for our expanding Appraisal operation. If you’re looking to work on a small agile team that lives and breathes collaboration, we are eager to connect with you.  
 
This position is located in Seattle, WA and reports to the Chief Technical Officer.
What you'll do:
  • Set up the foundation for frontend development at Aloft
  • Responsible for deciding which of the myriad frontend tools Aloft should adopt to meet its business needs
  • Build a frontend system that is "simple" enough for other founding engineers to develop in
  • Mentor the rest of the engineering team on best practices in frontend development
  • Dive into the backend to solve an end-to-end problem
  • Our codebase is in React, Node.js, and TypeScript. Familiarity with these technologies is a plus but not a necessity. 
What you'll bring:
  • 4-6 years of software development experience 
  • Significant exposure to frontend work with at least one year in a full stack or backend role.
  • Experience working across the stack
  • Exposure to more than one set of frontend technologies
