Senior Software Engineer - Front End

We are looking for a senior-level front end software engineer to join our software engineering organization. You’ll be working as part of a skilled, collaborative team to evolve our instant-quote product and the technology platform behind it. You want to be part of a small, intensely skilled team, who feel total ownership of their work, and can’t imagine a day without learning & coding. You will play a crucial role in the Xometry platform and everything you do will matter.  This is a 1-year contract.  

Responsibilities:

• Writing, testing, deploying, and maintaining web software frontends. Over time, you will be producing code in at least HTML, Typescript/JavaScript/React.
• You will be expected to be able to learn new technologies quickly.
• Close collaboration with other engineers, designers, and product managers to become a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team
• Operational responsibility for the services that are owned by your team, potentially including taking part in an on-call rotation
• Work in an environment that supports your individual growth

Requirements:

• 5+ years prior experience as a software developer in a fast-paced technical, problem-solving environment as a UI developer
• Prior experience building single page applications using modern JavaScript libraries like React, Vue, Angular, or Ember
• One or more years of experience building server-side applications in Node, Java Spring Boot, or .NET
• Knowledge of CSS with interest in marrying best practices in contemporary CSS with the language features of tomorrow
• Familiarity with concepts such as BEM, OOCSS, SMACSS, ITCSS, or Atomic CSS
• Skill at partnering with visual and user experience designers to translate complex design comps to responsive, performant, cross-browser capable code
• Understanding of the value of HTML semantics
• Experience with build tools such as Webpack, Babel, or Grunt
• Familiarity with technologies such as REST or GraphQL
• Some knowledge of back-end technologies Java, C#, Python, Ruby, Web Services, Relational/NoSQL Databases, OOP concepts helpful
