Senior Software Engineer - Frontend

This is a key opportunity to join us as a Senior Frontend Engineer and make a significant impact on the business and help define the future of our product. As a key member of the team, you will also play a vital role in leading the frontend stack and architecture. Your main responsibilities will be to take ownership of frontend development, optimise user experience and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including our Product Managers and Backend Developers.

Required:

Strong frontend coding ability & experience - our stack is React and Typescript.

Degree within a related field - Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Maths or equivalent.

4+ years of commercial experience in software engineering (with a preference for multiple years of experience with customer-facing frontend engineering) 

Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to plan, scope and deliver user-centred experiences and providing technical expertise to help to shape the future of the product.

Desire to solve really difficult software engineering problems.

Understanding of modern best practices for agile software development.

Desirable but not required: 

Desire to learn, or existing ability in, backend development Java and Python

Experience with AWS and building scalable systems within it 

Understanding of state-of-the-art in Artificial Intelligence

Understanding of modern machine learning techniques

Understanding of the architectural techniques needed to build massively scalable systems

Location:

We are currently operating a hybrid scheme with a small office near Holborn tube station available to anyone who wants to work there. We also have occasional team days where everyone meets face to face and days where people work heads down from home, communicating with colleagues using Slack and Zoom.
