The Team

The role fits into the product development squad for our low/no code customer onboarding solution – GBG GO. This is a cloud-hosted solution that enables businesses of all sizes to verify the identity of new customers. GO provides ready-to-go customer journey templates, an easy, drag-and-drop journey builder, and a smooth UI editor with a built-in customer consent check, enabling organisations to go to market in minutes, not days.

GO takes prospective customers on a dynamic, decision-driven journey, fast-tracking low- risk customers and taking higher-risk customers on a more secure route. Secure identity document proofing, data verification and AI-powered decisions come together to help businesses minimize risk, meet compliance, fight fraud and grow their customer base.

The Role

As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building and supporting the GBG Go product, built in modern cloud-based technologies. You will have a very varied role which isn’t confined to a single technology or language, so we are looking for someone who enjoys variety and flexibility working as a full stack engineer. The applications supported by the team are currently focused on a centralized no code / low code solution across the GBG product portfolio but this will expand in the future.

What you will do

• Develop the user interface of the GBG GO product always ensuring an excellent customer experience (front end focus using react.js, typescript)
• Develop and support the server applications ensuring good performance and usage of best software development patterns (back end focus using typescript)
• Support the architecture and design decisions within the team.
• Challenge the status quo (technologies and/or processes) to help improve delivery within the team.
• Review code from other team members, promoting best coding practices within the team.
• Enhance and maintain existing automated (functional and unit) test suites.
• Promote the devops culture and drive towards enabling continuous delivery within a cross functional, autonomous team.

What We're Looking For

• Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript technologies specifically including the React framework.
• Experience in any of; Java, NodeJS, vanilla Javascript, ElasticSearch, GO an advantage
• Experience of working in agile/scrum environments and a good understanding of continuous delivery practices.
• Excellent analytical skills and approach to problem solving.
• Experience of creating and maintaining modern web based user interfaces.
• Demonstrate, and champion with others, good habits in unit testing, mocking, stubbing and test-driven or behaviour-driven design approaches.
• Broad knowledge in design and architectural patterns, and excellent knowledge of OOP concepts.
• Must be confident using Git Source Control and CI / CD tools (Azure Devops, Jenkins)
• Passion for technology, inquisitive and ability to succeed in implementation and delivery of new solutions.
• Experience with Docker / Containerisation.
• Experience with AWS
• English reading and writing proficiency
• Ability to drive continual improvement within a cross functional, autonomous team.
• Comfortable with code reviews and pair programming.
• Proven ability to work well both independently and within a team.
• Demonstrates ability and willingness to learn quickly within a continually changing, challenging environment.
• Demonstrates ability to lead epics, comfortable mentoring junior developers and providing technical insights.
