What you'll be doing
Senior Engineers are the heart of our engineering team at Fictiv. As a Senior Engineer, you will be the hands-on technical anchor for your team. You will guide decisions from inside a project and lead us to build intuitive, user-friendly web applications with modular, well-structured components. You are a champion for the quality of our product, a key contributor to our technical designs, and the go-to expert for up leveling the skills of our engineers.

• Design and build secure, scalable, and performant web applications with modular, well-structured components
• Work with PM’s and UX Designers to develop intuitive, user-friendly experiences
• Collaborate with your team to deliver high quality solutions in a timely manner
• Ensure quality of your code through unit tests and end-to-end tests
• Troubleshoot production issues and create lasting fixes
• Develop and promote best practices for front end development, including reusable code patterns and components
• Mentor other engineers on our team on best practices for software development

• Excellence in Delivery: Proven ability to consistently deliver high quality, maintainable, and defect-free code. You have built highly available, business critical systems in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. You believe testing is an important part of creating quality software. 

• Technical expertise: Proficient with backend cloud services, particularly with event-based asynchronous programming frameworks like Node.js.

Additional skills include:

• Proficiency building scalable front-end web applications used in production
• Proficiency in building backend APIs and integrations
• Proficiency in a frontend framework
• Fluent in JavaScript / TypeScript in the browser and the server
• Understanding of querying/developing/versioning/maintaining REST or GraphQL APIs
• Willingness to contribute to end-to-end tests (We use Cypress.js)
• Strong grounding in Web-application security
• Experience with event systems such as queues, iPaaS, event buses

Full Tech Stack:

• Backend: Node.js GraphQL, JavaScript / Typescript, AWS Services: SQS, Lambda, EC2, RDS
• Frontend: React, Redux, JavaScript / Typescript, Cypress.js, GraphQL
