As a Senior Software Engineer on the Engine Release Team, you will develop, optimize, and maintain mission-critical release tools while reporting to the Engineering Manager. Using the tools you and your team create, you will support all phases of the software development lifecycle, including multi-platform build and release systems, continuous integration, fast flag, and production canary systems. If you are passionate about delivering productivity and efficiency with development tools, you'll be right at home with our Engine development team.
You Will:
- Develop game engine tooling around release processes, including desktop and server binary deployment, tooling for enabling features in production, and canary systems that can maintain availability
- Design and develop automation tools for our production release process - delivering gameplay to millions of concurrent players with zero interruption
- Maintain while improving the quality of our engine releases to have zero engine-related incidents
- Improve integration between version control, release, and incident tracking tools
- Collaborate with the team to improve overall engine release reliability and scalability
- Develop engineer-facing engine portal to simplify process integration
You Have:
- 5+ years experience developing and maintaining build tools for engineering teams of 15 or more
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, and Typescript, and scripting languages including Bash and PowerShell
- Proficiency with continuous integration and multi-platform development environments. We support development in multiple mobile and desktop environments
- Familiarity with the challenges of working at scale and on constrained platforms like consoles or mobile devices
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$218,540—$283,780 USD
Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
